| Breaking News |  | Thursday, April 29th, 2027: Cincinnati Reliever Hurt
Cincinnati fans held their breath as Johnnie Edwards left yesterday's Braves-Reds contest with an injury. After the game, the team's medical staff said that the 29-year-old reliever had suffered biceps tendinitis while throwing a pitch. It's estimated that he will be out 2 months.
This year Edwards has made no relief appearances with no saves. In 25 innings, he has permitted 27 hits, fanned 14 hitters and recorded 2 wins and 1 loss with a 4.68 ERA. |

Who needs batting practice? Izumo Subaru of Chicago (N) apparently doesn't as he battered Cincinnati with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 10-9 win.
He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 6 day... will my name be in the record books now?"
I. Subaru singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, singled in the 10th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.
In 127 games this season Subaru has compiled a .279 batting average with 98 hits and 7 home runs. He has also scored 43 times and knocked in 42 runs.

There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Ron Brown, the Cincinnati first baseman, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the National Player of the Week honors.
Brown piled up 12 hits in 26 at-bats, 3 home runs and 10 RBIs while hitting .462.
This season Brown is hitting .309 with 20 home runs.
