| Breaking News |  | Monday, April 26th, 2027: Season Over for Bednarz in Boston
The doctors have spoken and Herbert Bednarz of the Boston Red Sox didn't like what he heard. The 31-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Bednarz sustained his season-ending injury during the Baltimore Orioles game yesterday at Fenway Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Boston medical staff reported Bednarz had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7-8 months.

The Boston Red Sox swapped 32-year old reliever Broderick Sutton for nothing of the Brewers after what Milwaukee officials would only characterize as "difficult" negotiations.
This season Sutton has picked up 1 save and posted a 1-0 record with a 0.87 ERA. He has 5 relief appearances, tossed 10.1 innings and struck out 11. |
 | Saturday, April 17th, 2027: Deckard Guns Down Boston
Duane Deckard effectively shut down the Red Sox today, blanking them 7-0 on 3 hits, ringing up 7 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks. The Orioles pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.
"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Deckard said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."
The Red Sox skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."
