Texas and New York (A) have agreed to a trade today. nothing will go to the Yankees. In exchange the Rangers will receive 23-year old minor league starting pitcher Gregg Washington.

Felipe Granados of the Texas Rangers shut down the Toronto Blue Jays 8-0 on a 5-hitter, holding them scoreless while ringing up 7 strikeouts and allowing no walks.
After the game Granados said, "Guys have been fouling off a lot of pitches lately and I've been getting into too many deep pitch counts, but I'm pleased with the way things went today. I went right after them and stayed ahead in the count."

The general manager of the Washington Nationals has signed off on a trade for Texas's 29-year old catcher Wayne Thompson. To complete the deal, the Nationals will send a 2nd round draft pick to the Rangers.
Thompson is hitting .258 lifetime with 698 hits, 137 doubles, 11 triples, 92 home runs and 422 RBIs to date. He has scored 345 runs and stolen 10 bases.
