Like a battering ram, José Castro hit the baseball with brutal efficiency last week, gaining himself the Sub League 2 Player of the Week title for that stretch.
The Sun Valley College Rawhides left fielder rapped out a .588 average with 10 hits in 17 at-bats, 1 home run, 8 RBI and 7 runs scored.
Currently Castro is hitting .414 and has collected 6 home runs, 19 RBIs and scored 25 times, while playing in 26 games. |

It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Sub League 1, but last week Alejandro Castillo of the Clear Lake College Bighorns reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week.
Castillo rocked opposing pitching for a .556 average (10-18), 3 home runs and 5 RBIs to come away with the award.
This year Castillo is batting .238 with 5 home runs. |
 | Saturday, May 1st, 2027: April's Best Hurler in SL2 is Gonzáles
Over the past month Juan Gonzáles has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the Sub League 2. He proved all that and now he's been named April's Pitcher of the Month.
The rookie for the Lehigh Acres College Madhouse posted 4-1 mark and a 0.95 ERA. In 6 starts he tossed 38 innings, permitted 23 hits and fanned 32 batters.
