It took an extra inning but Colorado pulled out a win in a one game playoff against San Francisco to win the wild card. Congratulations to Colorado and to all of our playoff teams.
Playoff teams should get their rosters down to 25 guys before Friday AM's sim. I'll be running it before 7 AM eastern.
The sim is done, there is a tie in the NL Wildcard which means a one game playoff. I head off to California today for a week and Brian will be doing the sims in my absence. So it is up to him as to when the one game playoff is. LDS is on Friday, so he has between today and tomorrow to run it once he and Fig export!
The sim is done and we have a bran new all time win leader in the APBL! Silvio Santacruz now stands alone a top of the leader board with 313 wins after beating the Minnesota Twins 5-2 on September 24! What a storied career he has had.
Two real races left, both in the NL. The NL Central is still tied with St. Louis and Milwaulkee and Colorado NOW Trails San Fran by 1/2 game in the Wild Card!!!
Baltimore still has a shot this up and coming sim as well for the AL East, as they sit 3.5 out! With the Yankees playing Detroit and TB, and Baltimore playing Cleveland and Boston anything can ... (click for more)
Some races are ending, but some are still going strong.
AL East: Despite beating the Yankees 2 off 3, Baltimore dropped to 5 out after being swept by Kansas City.
AL Central: Kansas City has no quit, going 4-2 and closing to within 5 games of Detroit. With only 13 games it would take a collapse the size of the Mets for the Royals to make it, can it be done?
AL West: Seattle and Oakland battling for the division, but they both are bound for the playoffs with a 8 game lead in the WC!
NL EAST: The Mets have pulled away and now sport a 7.5 game lead.
NL Central: Tied! But the Car... (click for more)
Sim has been done in case you missed it. A bit of history...
Silvio Santacruz tied the all time win leader Korey Mathison by getting his 312 win this past sim. His next win and he will stand alone a top of the All Time Win leader list!
So it looks like LA is running away with their division opening up a 9 game lead over the Rockies and Giants. Both the Rockies and Giants are currently tied for the WC, so while it looks like they may be out of the race for the division, they still have a battle on their hands!
The Tigers too have put some seperation between them and the Royals, with another 9 game lead. Unfortunately for the Royals, they are 10.5 out in the WC as well, so that does not look like much of an option for them right now.
However, the four other divisions are all up for grabs. Seattle has now managed to pull... (click for more)
The sim is done and there was a no hitter this sim, as the Cincinnati Reds Jerry White faced 28 batters, only hitting a batter in the 5th inning. An impressive accomplishment as the Cards have a good hitting team.
So I've been pondering bringing this idea up for quite a while now and there is not time like the present. Before I even put it to a vote, I would like to hear what everyone here has to say on the idea.
Thinking about expanding to 32 teams and making each league have 4 divisions of four teams. Each Divisions winner would then move on to the playoffs.
if you all think this is an idea, we can then decide if we would add two teams to the AL, or one in each league and move one of the NL Teams to the AL.
Anyway, I'm just throwing this out there.
